Shaping Policy in Western Balkans
In the shadow of renewed geopolitical tensions and Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Western Balkans remain a critical frontier for Euro-Atlantic security. The New Lines Institute’s Western Balkans Center (WBC) is committed to countering malign influences and promoting the region's full integration into the Euro-Atlantic community. We provide timely, actionable insights and facilitate robust policy responses to ensure stability, security, and progress in this strategically vital region.
Since 2023, the New Lines Institute for Strategy and Policy has launched several initiatives related to monitoring and analyzing political trends and developments in the strategically pivotal Western Balkans region. Today, with the launch of our Western Balkans Center website, we bring our existing and emerging projects under one online platform to ensure greater accessibility and visibility of our work.

Our Mission
The WBC is at the forefront of addressing the critical challenges and opportunities facing the Western Balkans. We are an authoritative resource for policymakers, embassies, and international organizations engaged in the region. Our mission is clear:
Through expert-driven analysis and strategic recommendations, we work to limit destabilizing foreign actions in the Western Balkans.
Our work directly contributes to minimizing risks of territorial fragmentation and violence.
We are relentless in our pursuit of the Western Balkans’ full integration into Euro-Atlantic political and security structures.
Strategic Objectives
We act as the vital conduit between Western Balkans experts and decision-makers across key capitals. Through curated networks, high-level advisory panels, and targeted policy briefings, we ensure that informed expert perspectives directly influence policy decisions impacting the region.
Our forthcoming WBC website will serve as the central platform for disseminating critical analysis on geopolitical, security, and economic issues in the Western Balkans. We publish high-quality reports and host expert panels, driving policy discussions and shaping the debate in capitals around the world.
